Sound Healing & Yoga

Kendyl teaches at the North Shore Yoga Co-op in Waialua and also offers private sessions, events, workshops and retreats.

Kendyl with her sound healing instruments

Music has been used throughout history to create positive effects on our mood and as a form of therapy to heal the body, mind, and spirit. Sound Healing activates the body’s energy systems so it can do what it does naturally – heal.  Everything in our universe, including every cell in the human body, is made up of vibrations. We reach optimal health when we are vibrating in harmony with our natural frequency.

“There’s no organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound and music and vibration. You can look at disease as a form of disharmony.” – Mitchell Gaynor, M.D.

Vinyasa with Live Music & Sound Bath

Thursdays 9:30-10:45 @ North Shore Yoga Co-op

Class begins with a crystal alchemy sound bowl meditation and pranayama. We bless the practice together by chanting Om three times with the harmonium and then move into some mindful movements linked with breath. For the first half of the class Kendyl will be actively demonstrating the postures and walking around giving hands-on adjustments. In the second half of the class students transition to their backs for their longer hold restorative postures and Kendyl verbally guides the class as she weaves in songs with slack key guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. For savasana students are guided into a long deep relaxation with sound bowls and etheric chimes. Class concludes with mantra on the harmonium and the final chanting of Om Shantii Shanti Shanti.

Sound Healing

(Offered Several times a month at various locations)

Sound healing involves using specialized sound frequencies to create a therapeutic atmosphere to promote deep rest, nervous system rebalancing, and emotional release. Ideally, a meditative or theta brainwave state is created which allows access to deeper levels of inner wisdom and healing.

Come lay back, relax and bask in the sounds of the gong, crystal singing bowls, etheric chimes, Native American Drone Flute, harmonium, Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, melodic pan drum & more. The sound bath will begin with gentle breath-work (pranayama) and guided relaxation (yoga nidra).

Please Bring a yoga mat and anything else you may like to feel comfortable (such as pillows, blanket, eye mask, water, journal)
