Preparing for your Ceremony
In the days leading up to ceremony:
-
Hydrate: Pure water and fresh pressed juices are wonderful.
-
Eat organic whole foods.
-
Refrain from using alcohol, drugs and any other toxins.
-
NO SWEAT LODGES, COLONICS, LIVER FLUSHES, OR WATER FASTING WITHIN 2 DAYS OF TAKING KAMBO. No hot yoga or saunas 1 day before. They disrupt your electrolyte balance, which can pose a severe risk to your health.
-
Read the contraindications page and be completely honest with your practitioner making a full disclosure of any medications or serious medical conditions that you may have to protect both yourself and the practitioner. Please take the time to share and to let the practitioner know of any special needs prior to the ceremony.
-
Women menstruating: Kambo is a vasodilator and may cause increased flow for 24-36 hours. You may also get your period sooner than usual.
-
Take time to find some peace (meditation, breath work, time in nature, prayer, journaling) and connect with your intentions for working with Kambo.

Day of ceremony:
-
Do not eat for 6 hours prior to your session.
-
Drink water for thirst (don't over-hydrate)
-
Drink tea with honey upon rising if you have a morning session. Honey helps keep the blood sugar stable.
-
If you have an afternoon session, you can have breakfast, just make sure it is at least 6 hours before your session time.
-
Dress comfortably, and in layers. Once your Kambo goes on you may get hot, so you’ll want to remove layers. Prior though you want to stay warm, cozy, receptive and open. Do not wear contacts if possible. Glasses are great, as we will use Sananga eye drops. In case of a Chakra treatment women may wish to wear a sports bra or bring something similar. Bring a hair tie for long hair.
-
Bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, sacred objects (such as crystals) for the alter and any snacks you'd like to share with the group after the ceremony.

Some choose to do 3 ceremonies within a 28-day period (or moon cycle). This allows the individual to go deeper with the healing – as the Kambo works in an accumulative way when treatments are closer together.
